National Association of Elementary School Principals Executive Director:  Dr. L. Earl Franks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE, the executive director of the National Association of Elementary School
Principals, is a veteran association executive and advocate for public education and school leadership with over three decades of pre-K\u201312 education experience. In his role as NAESP\u2019s executive director, Franks advances the Association\u2019s mission to lead in the advocacy and support for elementary and middle-level principals and other education leaders in their commitment to all children. He represents the nation\u2019s pre-K\u20138 principals on the Board of Directors of
the Learning First Alliance, the National Policy Board for Educational Administration, and as a member of multiple national educational organizations and coalitions. Prior to his selection as the NAESP executive director, he served as executive director of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS), Alabama\u2019s leading umbrella organization for principals and school administrators. He was inducted into the Alabama Educational Leadership Hall of Fame in 2018. Franks received his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his Master of Science in Education, Bachelor of Music Education, and Educational Specialist degrees from Troy University in Troy, Alabama.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

CCSSO’s Chief Executive Office: Dr. Carissa Moffat Miller<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Carissa Moffat Miller is the Chief Executive Officerof the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), where she works with state education chiefs to ensure all students have the opportunity to graduate from high school prepared for college, careers and life. With a deep understanding of education policy at the state and national levels, Carissa leads CCSSO\u2019s efforts to help states deliver equitable education opportunities to every student. Carissa, a first-generation college graduate, was named head of CCSSO in 2018, becoming the first woman to lead in its 90-year history. Prior to joining CCSSO, Carissa served as a deputy superintendent at the Idaho State Department of Education and led the implementation of statewide online testing for the Idaho State Board of Education. Carissa holds a Ph.D. in education from the University of Idaho, a master\u2019s degree in sociology from the University of Wyoming, and a bachelor\u2019s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.<\/p>\n<\/div>

NASSP’s Chief Executive Officer: Ronn Nozoe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lifelong educator, Nozoe has served as associate executive director, interim executive director, and senior adviser at ASCD since 2015. During that time, he led the development of some of ASCD\u2019s most high-profile programs, including the ASCD Whole Child Network and ASCD Activate, an online professional development library of resources. Nozoe joined ASCD after an appointment as deputy assistant secretary for policy and programs at the U.S. Department of Education, where he worked on initiatives to build state and local capacity in the areas of teacher quality, school safety, rural education, and migrant and Indian education.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

UCEA Executive Director: Dr. Byrne-Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Byrne-Jim\u00e9nez is the Executive Director of the Universty Council for Educational Administration hosted at Michigan State University. She is also Associate Professor in the department of Educational Administration K12. Her scholarship focuses on Latinx identity and leadership, faculty diversity and doctoral student experiences, social justice program development, and the role of alternative epistemologies in research and leadership. Before becoming faculty, she worked in a number of urban settings in New York City, including a K-6 bilingual teacher, Even Start coordinator, and literacy instructional specialist. She was also the Associate Director of the Accelerated Schools Project while at Teachers College where she supported districts leading school improvement. She is coauthor of Developing Effective Principals Through Collaborative Inquiry<\/em>. Her work has appeared in the Leadership and Policy in Schools Journal<\/em>, Frontiers in Education<\/em>, Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership, Handbook of Urban Educational Leadership, Handbook of Research on Educational Leadership for Diversity and Equity, Handbook of Research on the Education of School Leaders, International Journal of Educational Research, International Journal of Leadership in Education, Journal of Latinos and Education, and Voices in Urban Education<\/em>. Dr. Byrne-Jim\u00e9nez holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies\/Sociology from Columbia University, an M.A. in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan, and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is former Vice President of Division A\/Administration, Organization, and Leadership of the American Education Research Assocation (AERA), UCEA Past-President, Board President of the Community Training and Assistance Center, and Past-President of the Latino Alumni Association of Columbia University.<\/p>\n<\/div>

ICPEL Executive Director: Dr. Stacey Edmonson<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICPEL is a collaborative, friendly scholar-practitioner organization committed to the practice and study of educational administration. Established in 1947 (as the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration), ICPEL has a strong commitment to serve the interests and needs of professors of educational administration and practicing school leaders in such areas as equity, inclusion, innovation, and excellence.<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Stacey Edmonson is Dean of the College of Education at Sam Houston State University. In addition to 11 years as Dean, throughout her 32 years in Texas education she has served the College of Education as department chair, doctoral director, and professor of Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University as well as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator in Texas public schools. She currently serves as a board member and chair-elect for the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) as well as Executive Director for the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership (ICPEL). She has also recently served as President of the Teacher Education Council for State Colleges and Universities (TECSCU), President of the Texas Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (TACTE), and site team chair for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).  She is the immediate past-chair of the Higher Education Committee for the Texas Association of School Administrators and was selected in 2018 to serve on the State Board of Education\u2019s Long-Range Plan Steering Committee for Texas. She earned a BA in English from Texas A&M University and MEd and EdD in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She has published six books and 91 peer-reviewed articles on topics including trust, stress and burnout among educators, legal issues in education, and educator ethics; she has also served as principal investigator on more than $13.5 million in competitive external grant funding.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
